DKF Overground

Overground has existed for 16 years. In 1994 the student cinema Overground was set up. Since 1997 Overground has officially been called 'DKF' (Film Discussion Club) - that's when we joined the Polish Federation of Film Discussion Clubs.

altEver since its foundation, Overground focused on presenting interesting films.

We have always cared about promoting young directors, many times have we organised short student films shows, as well as independent short films before the main feature presentation. The roots of International Motion Picture Forum Oskariada can also be traced back to Overground.

Promoting independent and non-mainstream films is a difficult task. However, we never forget that we exist for our audience. The audience, just like everyone, have varying moods. That's why we don't settle down on showing only specific types of films. We look for good movies - no bias. In Overground you can watch and discuss both silent films from the '20s, as well as the newest feature films from the USA. Here you can meet celebrities - both up-and-coming ones and those undeniably unforgettable. Discussions with our special guests are part of our legacy - we were visited by the likes of Marek Kondrat, Marek Koterski, Kazimierz Kutz, Andrzej Wajda and Krzysztof Zanussi.

We show good films for everyone. Perhaps that's exactly the reason why Overground has gained its reputation among moviegoers from Warsaw.

Overground's projections take place in Warsaw School of Economics, inside specifically prepared lecture hall, equipped with professional tools allowing us to prepare screenings for up to 300 viewers. Screenings take place every Tuesday and Thursday on 7 PM.
